The human race has made relatively few forays into the wilds of its own cosmic backyard, the solar system, and the vast majority of those have been with unmanned robotic probes. It has taken us centuries to explore the surface of just one planet--Earth. Planets, moons, asteroids, comets, and more all await human explorers, settlements, and exploration. The solar system will likely be at the forefront of human space efforts for centuries to come.
